20 dps from degen + glimmering mark (23~dps) = 43 dps before the nerf, which was what he was saying.

It was fun to use, not too great, but fun. Now it just sucks.

I'd not be surprised if this is step one in completely revamping GvG. It makes no sense to remove all the strategic elements of the venue on a permanent basis. It does make sense to strip the battle down to basics to see how it's played out on a broad spectrum of matches. A week or so from now, I bet we start to see one or two new elements added back in.

This is quite radical, though. I just don't know how else to describe it. However, it might be the step that's needed to speed up GvG without sacrificing the strategic and tactical elements that separate it from being HA played in a large area.

I need to start making equations again for my posts:

GvG > PvP?

Nonetheless, I didn't like Glimmering Mark seven months ago, last week and I'll certainly dislike it now. Glimmering Mark probably could use the same factor [skill]Invoke Lightning[/skill] has when it comes to having an enchantment on or not.

Hardly... I personally loled at people trying to kill me with it in AB. It was just bugged and they fixed it... All that is completely beside the point that even in pre-fixed state it wasn't worth a slot, especially since you cant even cover it.

uh, what's with all the "zomg no guild theifs or locks means no more base element in gvg, r.i.p. tactics" nonsense? plenty of halls already have no locked gates and i didn't see people complaining about them before.

This makes AB the actual real pvp arena now since all the rest have just turned into kiddy clickfests and romper rooms. Hurray for change and we even have emotes now to use and ranks in AB.

It might if they changed it from 3 4-man teams to 1 12-man team vs 1 12-man team, perhaps, because then there'd actually be, y'know, strategy, instead of random groups of scrubs running around in the other two teams.

If you dont know anything about gvg, dont share your opinion, please.

GvG before this was alot more 8v8 only, fight at stand, split defensive or full-out turtle if they split, then it will be now.

Theres three types of builds generally used: 8v8 oriented, split oriented, or balanced (capable of doing both but not as well as one fully dedicated to one tactic).

Split build's ability to ownface came from being able to pick off npc's one by one if the enemy turtled. Now if a split build or balanced wants any edge over a 8v8 build they have to split, and the only way a split can make a difference is to drop the bodyguard and dmg or kill the lord. The point here is that a 8v8 build can EASILY force a split or balanced build to fight 8v8 in the old meta, they didnt need the 300hp on the lord if your turtling, plus you can always find a way to sneak a flag.

As for this update, I cant honestly say. On one hand lords don't walk forcing a split or guildrush to win. On the other hand, whats to stop an 8v8 build from turtling and repeatedly wiping the opposing team just to beastmode at some point and guildrush? I wouldnt be surprised to see a few gvg's decided by a sole monk or runner zerging and wanding the opposing lord once.

But like I said, it'll be intresting how this pans out.

The skill isn't bad, even when it doesn't have the armor ignoring feature. It's not ment to be used as a "lets spike this guy with lightning as fast as we can", but more of a "lets hit 2 targets at once". Cast GM on one guy and use your other lightning skills on the guy next to him.
